Mr. Marty Lee Griffin, 47, of West Burlington and formerly of Dallas City, Illinois died at 2:15 a.m. Wednesday, October 21, 2009.
Born September 17, 1962 in Burlington, he was the son of James Jerald and Mary Jo Kirkpatrick Griffin.
Mr. Griffin was a Dallas City High School graduate. He was an Army veteran. Mr. Griffin was a mechanic for Holtkamp Trailer Repair. He was a member of Eagles Lodge Aerie No. 150, Masonic Lodge AF&AM and he enjoyed playing pool, fishing, racing, and sports.
Survivors include two children, Adam Joseph Griffin and Nicole Marie Griffin Stewart both of North Carolina; two grandchildren; his mother, Mary Griffin of Metropolis, Illinois; two brothers, Jim (Debbie) Griffin of Tipton and Clark (Nannette) Griffin of Fort Madison; and two sisters, Vickie (David) Thomas of Wichita Falls, Texas and Sherry (Billy) Powell of Harrisburg, Illinois.
His father preceded him in death.
The family of Mr. Griffin will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Monday, October 25th, in Lunning Chapel. According to Mr. Griffin's wishes, his body will be cremated following the visitation.
