Frances Manning Morgan age 86 of Ames, IA died at Northcrest Health Care Unit on Friday, December 11, 2009. A memorial service will be at 1:30 PM Monday, December 14, 2009 at the United Church of Christ -- Congregational, 6th and Kellogg in Ames. Burial will be at the Ames Municipal Cemetery.
Frances Manning Morgan was born August 27, 1923, in Keosauqua, IA, the daughter of Bates and Madge (Landes) Manning. She graduated from Ames High School. She married Paul Morgan on January 6, 1945, in Larchmont, NY.
During her 70 years living in Ames, Fran was a member of PEO Chapter HN for 50 years, ISU Faculty Women's Club, Questers, and she was an active member of the United Church of Christ -- Congregational. Fran and Paul have made their home at Northcrest and have appreciated the compassionate care Fran has received in the Health Care Unit the last fourteen months.
Fran is survived by her husband, Paul, of Ames; sons, Jack (Randi) of Bainbridge Island, WA, and Mike (Genelle) of Pella, IA; daughter, Betty (John) Morgan Pittman of Parker, CO; grandchildren: Tom (Andrea) Morgan, John Morgan, Lisa (Anthony) Alvino, Sara Morgan (John Shaffer), Kelly Pittman, Jeffrey Pittman, and Jane Pittman; and great granddaughters Isabella and Catherine Alvino.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Betty Friedmeyer; and brother, John Manning.
