December 30, 1964 - February 11, 2010

Thomas John Christensen, 45, of Ames, passed away Thursday, Feb. 11, 2010, at home. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 16, at Adams Funeral Home in Ames, and from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 17, at Foster Funeral Home in Webster City. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 18, at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Webster City.

Tom was born Dec. 30, 1964, in Webster City, to Kenneth and Rita (McCann) Christensen. He married Jolene Metcalf March 16, 1996, in Indianola. He was owner of T.J.'s Auto Detailing. Tom was a NASCAR fan, particularly Dale Earnhart Jr., and a fan of the Iowa Hawkeyes. He enjoyed cars, pets, watching comedies on TV, playing sports, photography and family and friends. He also loved all types of music. Some of his favorite songs are by Neil Young, the Rolling Stones and Keith Urban, to name a few.

He is survived by his wife, Jolene, of Ames; parents, Ken and Rita Christensen, of Webster City; sister, Mary (Jim) Fortune, of Webster City; brothers, Stephen Christensen, of Beaverton, Ore., and Michael (Jolene) Christensen, of Webster City; mother-in-law, Twila Wilkinson, of Indianola; brothers-in-law, Jeff Metcalf and Jordan (Kathy) Metcalf, of Houston, Texas; four nieces; three nephews; one aunt; and a host of family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Mark, in March 1999.

Memorials may be directed to the family.

Adams Funeral Home and Cremation Service is assisting the family with arrangements in Ames. Foster Funeral Home is assisting the family in Webster City.
