Rogene Root, 78, of Cedar Falls, a former Webster City
resident, died Friday, March 5, 2010 at her daughter's home.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Trinity
Lutheran Church, with Revs. Mike Kroona and Tony Ede
officiating. Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the Foster Funeral and Cremation Center
from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 Wednesday and at the Church after
11:00 a.m. Thursday.
Rogene Oler, daughter of Lyle and Vada Stilson Oler, was
born March 11, 1931 at Yankton, SD. She graduated from
Dows High School in 1949. She also attended Ellsworth
Community College at Iowa Falls and A.I.B. at Des Moines.
On September 21, 1951, she married Leon A. Root at San
Diego, CA. Following Leon's discharge from the Navy, they
moved to Dows. In 1960, they moved to Webster City. In
1970, the couple purchased the Modern Cleaners. Following
their retirement, the couple continued to work at the cleaners.
Mr. Root died December 12, 2003.
Mrs. Root is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Tracy
and Robert Shadle of Cedar Falls; Joan and Morrie O'Hearn
of Webster City; son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Ann Root
of Webster City; grandchildren, Sarah, Nathan and Rachel
Shadle; Joey and Jordan Root; Connor, Carly, Emma and Ella
O'Hearn; great-granddaughter, Lauren
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by
her parents and a brother, William Oler.
She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church.
