Gwendolyn Sue Perry, 65, of Burlington, died at 2:47 a.m. Wednesday, March 10, 2010, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.
Born August 29, 1944 in Peoria, Illinois, she was the daughter of Wiley and Vera Ring Tilton.
Ms. Perry was a Danville High School graduate and worked as a resident aide at the Des Moines County Home and Hope Haven. She loved to sing, even in competitions, loved music and watching bands play. She loved spending time with her friends and was frequently at Otis Campbell's for pizza and beer.
Survivors include one son, Travis Perry (fiancée, Teresa Peifer) of Cedar Rapids; one sister, Jo Sutter of Mount Pleasant and nieces and nephews.
Her parents and brother preceded her in death.
Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 13th, in Lunning Chapel.
The memorial funeral service for Ms. Perry will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday in Lunning Chapel with Pastor Daryl Jessup officiating. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the time of service.
A memorial has been established for the family.
According to Ms. Perry's wishes, her body has been cremated.
