"I'll miss you."
Ruth Marie Gall, 97, of West Burlington died at 11:05 a.m. Thursday, June 17, 2010, at Great River Medical Center.
Born June 21, 1912 in Roscoe, she was the daughter of Charles and Emma Johnson Schmidt. On January 11, 1936 she married Lawrence Martin Gall in West Burlington. He preceded her in death on April 11, 1983.
Mrs. Gall worked for 22 years for the school lunch program in St. John's Catholic School. She also worked in St. John's child care for five years.
Mrs. Gall was a member of SS John and Paul Catholic Church and Ladies of the Moose.
Survivors include two sons, Richard Gall of Burlington and Chuck Gall of Independence; one daughter, Judy Beck of Dayton, Ohio; grandchildren; Brian, Michele, Tim, Lynette, Kari, Jennifer, Jeff, Mike, Shawn, Cheryl, Tamara and Jason; and many great-grandchildren.
Her husband, parents and one brother preceded her in death.
The Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Gall will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 23rd at St. John Catholic Church. The Rev. Bruce DeRammelaere and Rev. Jeff Belger will be the celebrants. The Des Moines County Ressurrection Choir will provide music. Interment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Visitation with family will be from 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday at St. John Catholic Church. Friends may call from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 22nd in Lunning Chapel.
