Eleanor Butler Williams, 80, of Webster City, died
Wednesday, June 30, 2010 at Crestview Senior Living.
Graveside services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at
the Troy Township Cemetery, south of Eagle Grove,
with Pastor Leonard Carlson officiating. Visitation will
be at the Foster Funeral and Cremation Center from
5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday and Friday until 1:00
p.m.
Eleanor Joyce Spires, daughter of James and Amy Orr
Spires, was born September 22, 1929 at Regina,
Saskatchewan, Canada. At the age of ten, she moved with
her parents to Woolstock. She attended Woolstock Public
School. On September 4, 1946, she married Gale Maynard
Butler at the Woolstock United Methodist Church. They
resided at Woolstock for 26 years. Mr. Butler died
January 10, 1973. On November 8, 1975, she married
Gerald A. Williams at Woolstock. They resided at
Woolstock. Mr. Williams died April 16, 1999. She
continued to live at Woolstock. She moved to Crestview
Senior Living in 2003.
Mrs. Williams is survived by son and daughter-in-law,
Virgil and Julie Butler of Clarion; daughters and
sons-in-law, Crystal and Dick Griffith, LeLanie and
Marvin Gilbert, all of Webster City; Kim Butler of Eagle
Grove; Marliss and Richard Shroll of Battle Creek, MI; 11
grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; sister, Evelyn
Larson of Mitchellville; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death
by a son, Vincent R. Butler in 1969; her parents; brothers,
Maurice, Clifford, Irvin, Ralph, Lester and Charles Spires;
sister, Mildred Hurtt.
She was a member of the Woolstock United Methodist
Church and United Methodist Women.
