"Forever in my memories."
Carol Jean Snyder, 75, of Burlington died at 4:15 a.m. Friday, July 9, 2010, at Prairie Ridge Care and Rehab in Mediapolis.
Born June 4, 1935 in Albia, she was the daughter of Harry and Mary Sutton Parker.
Mrs. Snyder was a 1953 graduate of Bloomfield High School.
On September 11, 1954 she was united in marriage to Harold Thomas "Tom" Snyder in Kahoka, Missouri. Into that union four children were born, Jesse, Scott, Tamie and Sherry.
Mrs. Snyder was a public servant, being a waitress at various restaurants in Burlington and also a bartender at the Hide-a-Way and Roederer's. Carol enjoyed working with the public.
She enjoyed being outdoors, her flower gardens and the birds. Her most enjoyment was having a good stiff whiskey and water on the porch in the sun.
Survivors include one son, Jesse (Linda) Snyder of Seoul, South Korea; two daughters, Tamie Lange of Bloomfield and Sherry (Jim) Lees of Burlington; six grandchildren; five great grandchildren with one on the way; one brother, Delton Parker of Texas; and three sisters, Lois Wintermote, Louise Minks and Wilma Veatch all of Bloomfield.
Her son, Scott Snyder; parents; one grandson, Lou Wilkerson and one sister, Vivian preceded
her in death.
Friends may call from noon until 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 13th in Lunning Chapel. The family will not be present.
The graveside funeral service and interment for Mrs. Snyder will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 14th in Burlington Memorial Park Cemetery.
