Mrs. Phyllis Scott, 67, of Burlington died Tuesday, July 20, 2010, at her home.
She was born September 29, 1942 in Dallas County near Redfield, Iowa. She was the daughter of Alford and Mildred Belding /LeMar and stepdaughter of Joe LeMar.
On May 28, 1959 she married Joseph Terrence Marnin in Stuart, Iowa. They later divorced. On August 8, 1975 she married Virgil Allen Scott in Des Moines, Iowa.
She graduated from Stuart High School in 1960. She worked for AMF Western International in Des Moines, Iowa for 23 years. After moving to Burlington, Iowa she worked at Motorola/Celestica for 17 years until she retired in 2005.
She is survived by her husband, Scottie (the love of her life) of West Burlington; daughter, Linda (Mike) Huppenbauer of Burlington; son, Gary (Kristy) Marnin of Ames; daughter, Sherri Weyer of Burlington; daughter, Wendy Scott of Des Moines; stepson, Tony (Lori) Scott of Des Moines, stepson, Richard Farquharson of Madrid, Louisiana; 11 grandchildren; six great grandchildren; her mother and stepfather; sister, Lois Hochstetler of Norwalk; and sister, Susan (Jay) Butler of West Des Moines.
She was preceded in death by her father; one infant daughter, Barbara Marnin; two granddaughters, Kimberly Huppenbauer and Angel Moore; and one great granddaughter, Sela Weyer.
Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday, July 23rd, in Lunning Chapel where the family will receive friends from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m.
The Celebration of Life for Mrs. Scott will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, July 24th, in Lunning Chapel. Interment will be in South Walker Cemetery.
A memorial has been established.
