Loren Reif

Loren Reif, 90, of Danville, died 8:10 a.m. Saturday, July 31, 2010 at Danville Care Center.
Born September 28, 1919 in rural Des Moines County, he was the son of Lawrence and Effie Wischmeier Reif. On September 12, 1945 he married Ruth Beckman in Burlington.
Mr. Reif was a graduate of Sperry High School and attended Franklin Mills School.
He was a dairy farmer.
Mr. Reif served 40 years on the Des Moines County Mutual Insurance Association Board of Directors. He served on the Henry County Farmers Home Administrative Advisory Committee and served 20 years on the S.E. Iowa Cooperative Electric Board in Mt. Pleasant.
He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church. He enjoyed traveling.
Survivors include his wife; one nephew he raised as his son; Darcy Beckman of Danville; one brother, Clinton Reif of Burlington; one sister, Leona Luecking of West Burlington and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son in infancy; a nephew, David Beckman; two brothers, Robert and Clifford Reif; and one sister, Charlotte.
Friends may call from 12:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 3rd in Lunning Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
The funeral service for Mr. Reif will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, August 4th, at Faith Lutheran Church. The Rev. Wayne Weissenbuehler will officiate. Interment will be in Burlington Memorial Park Cemetery.
Memorials have been established to Faith Lutheran Church and Great River Hospice.
