"Dear Engstler Family,
Growing up in together Garner, Doug was more than a friend, he was like a brother to me. In sports and in life, he always encouraged me to try harder, achieve more, and pushed me to join him at the next level. He will truly be missed by myself, my family, and so many lives he touched over the years, but most of all, never forgotten."

"I was so sad to hear about Doug. I feel for what the family is going through especially Josh and Carter. Josh was in my son, Brady\'s class and Carter played with my son Colby. I will miss sitting in the stands with Doug as our kids color with marker all over the school\'s tile wall. I\'m sure Doug is laughing about that one now. I will also miss him driving up behind me as I am walking and telling me to go faster or to do my lunges. He was a wonderful father who was always there for his children. He was also a wonderful friend. I will miss you Doug! I know he will be watching over his family especially his kids. It was a privalege to know Doug. My prayers are with all of you."
