Tributes
Julie Crotty- friend from Danville wrote on Aug 31, 2010:
"Heaven is a bit brighter today, as Polly has arrived. It seems that everyone who knew her used the same words to describe her: sweet, loving, innocent, giving, positive, gentle and kind. I think that we all stand in admiration regarding the way that she lived her life. It is sometimes the most unlikely of people--- who end up teaching the greatest lessons, and setting the most wonderful examples for all. I'm reminded of the Beatitude- Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth. My thoughts and prayers are with you, Bev. "
Nathan Hagan, cousin wrote on Aug 31, 2010:
"My cousin Polly was more like Aunt Polly. I appreciate Polly so much. Her perspective on life was always optimistic and full of energy. She loved her life, family, and friends. She would write to me often and share the wonderful things she was apart of. My "aunt" Polly represents everything good about life. When I think of her, I think of picnics in Crapo Park, I think of family get-togethers. I think of Thanksgiving dinners and Christmas holidays in Maquoketa. And I think of Illinois/Iowa football games. I Love Polly and will miss her in memories, but am blessed to know she is having a ball right now in heaven."
Peggy White, cousin wrote on Aug 31, 2010:
"What can I say about Polly in such a small place. She was a sweet, innocent, precious person. Nearly every celebration in my life was spent with her. She treated me like a sister, always calling and writing to keep us connected. She treated my kids like her own nieces and nephews and my girls refer to her as Aunt Polly. She was such an example of unselfishness to us all and truly the love of Jesus shined in her face."
