Betty Jane Hobart

May 14, 1924 - August 30, 2010
London, died at 7:30 p.m. Monday, August 30, 2010, at Francis House in South Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Born May 14, 1924 in Anita, Iowa she was the daughter of Jesse R. and JoHannah T. Petersen Chapman. On January 18, 1943 she married Loren "Keith" Hobart in Memphis, Missouri. He preceded her in death on August 19, 2007.
Mrs. Hobart was a 1942 graduate of Granger (Missouri) High School. She was a homemaker, worked at Iowa Army Ammunition Plant, housekeeping at New London Nursing and Rehab Center and Geode Café in New London.
Mrs. Hobart was a member of New London United Methodist Church and Patience Circle of New London United Methodist Women. She loved to plant geraniums, canning and reading her Bible every day. She also was an avid Hawkeye fan.
Survivors include one daughter, Shirley (Bob) Sinclair of Racine, Wisconsin; one son, Loren Keith (Janese) Hobart Jr. of Palm Bay, Florida; four grandchildren, Cindy (Jon) Phillips of Janesville, Wisconsin, Todd (Kim) Thornburg of Mt. Pleasant, and Loren Keith Hobart III and Leah Marie Hobart both of Colorado Springs, Colorado; five step grandchildren; three great grandchildren, Jordan Phillips of Iowa City and Braden Thornburg and Rachele Thornburg both of Mt. Pleasant; ten step great grandchildren; one brother, Jack (Darlene) Chapman of Union, Missouri; one niece and one nephew.
Her parents, husband, one sister and one grandson preceded her in death.
The funeral service for Mrs. Hobart will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 3rd, at New London United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jim Roth officiating. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the time of service. Interment will be in Long Creek Cemetery, rural Danville.
