Robert "Bob" Keffeler
November 16, 1923 - November 4, 2008

Robert "Bob" Keffeler was born on November 16, 1923 in Dubuque, Iowa to Nicholas and Caroline (Schrup) Keffeler. Bob was baptized in Dubuque, Iowa and later was confirmed at the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Windom. He grew up on a farm near Bingham Lake and moved into Windom in 1964. Bob completed his elementary education in the District 66 country school and then was accepted to the Columbia Academy in Dubuque, Iowa during the 9th grade. Bob returned to Bingham Lake High school. In high school, Bob played football, basketball and track. He then graduated in 1941. After graduation Bob started farming and continued this for nearly 50 years.

On July 18, 1981, Bob was united in marriage to Mary Ann Kasper-Timm at the St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Lakefield.

Bob was a member of the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church where he served as an usher. He was also a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #3891 and the Knights of Columbus Council #1608. He worked at the Knights of Columbus food stand at the fair, where he enjoyed frying hamburgers. Bob treasured his friends, Bingham Lake education, and never failed to attend the annual Bingham Lake all school alumni reunion. During his bachelor years he enjoyed the fishing trips into Canada with his friends. Most of all Bob loved his time with his family, especially his nieces and nephews.

Bob passed away on Tuesday, November 4, 2008 at the Sogge Good Samaritan Society in Windom.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Mary Ann Keffeler; six step-children, Paula Gutheridge and her husband, Rick, of Elk River, Randy Timm and his wife, Mardy, of Lewisville, Susan Drahos and her husband, Tony, of Rochester, Richard Timm of Lewisville, Debra Wolff and her husband, Peter, of Elysian, and Pamela Pederson and her husband, Kerry, of Spring Park; 14 step-grandchildren; 18 step-great grandchildren; one brother, Thomas Keffeler and his wife, Margaret, of Windom; brother-in-law, Jim Burgmeier; and several nieces and nephews.

Bob is preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Joanne Burgmeier.
