Joel Alan Dalton was born on December 27, 1965, in Peoria, Illinois to C. Jack and Norma (Newell) Dalton. He received his education in the Toulon-LaFayette High School in Toulon, Illinois where he graduated in the Class of 1984. In the late 1980's, he moved to Mt. Lake, Minnesota and continued to live there until October of 2006 when he became a resident of Sogge Memorial Good Samaritan Society in Windom. He remained there until passing away from complications due to diabetes late Wednesday evening, February 18, 2009, at the age of 43 years.
Joel spent his time playing chess, reading, making lists, watching old movies, and time on the computer. He was an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs and Bears and loved animals. Joel's favorite beverage of all time was root beer.
Joel is survived by his father and mother, C. Jack and Norma Dalton of Mountain Lake; five siblings, Lynda Young and her husband, Jerry, of Washington, Illinois; Jack Dalton of Mt. Lake; Ron Dalton and his wife, Kristie, of Mt. Lake; Michael Dalton of Luverne; and Wendy Johnson and her husband, Frank of Avoca; and nieces and nephews, Brandon, Libby, Casey, Ben, Laura and Kyle.
