Evelyn Rohlfsen

In loving memory of

Evelyn Rohlfsen
March 7, 1910 - March 8, 2009

Evelyn Lillian Rohlfsen was born on March 7, 1910 in Christiana Township in Jackson County to the late John B. and Lillian (Schottle) McCullough. Evelyn received her education in the Windom Public Schools, graduating in 1928. She was employed by Elli R. Lund, County Attorney, the Windom State Bank and the Federal Land Bank in Windom.

On December 19, 1953, Evelyn was united in marriage to Wally Rohlfsen at Lake City, Iowa. After marriage, Evelyn and Wally farmed. Having a father that was a farmer, she retained that choice for the next 33 years. It was there she gained her love of the soil and the livestock.

Evelyn was always a very gracious hostess.

Evelyn was an active member of the First United Methodist Church in Windom serving on many commissions, taught Sunday School and was active in the Women's Group.

In 2001 her health limited her activities but she was able to retain her independence. Evelyn entered the Good Samaritan Society-Sogge Memorial in Windom on February 12, 2009, where she passed away on Sunday, March 8, 2009.

Evelyn is survived by her husband, Wally; sister, Elaine Campbell of Chatsworth, CA; many cousins and their families; and many friends

Evelyn is preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Donald; and one sister, Ardyth Hadenfeldt.

"Uncle Wally, we are truly saddened to hear of of Aunt Evie's passing. I know this is late, but unfortunately my family didn't hear about her passing until today. I will truly miss her. I don't have a single memory of Christmas at Grandma's that doesn't include the two of you. My sympathies go out to you. With all my love, Heather"
