DES MOINES - Khalon R. Drabek, 10 month old son of Rick and Sheree (Pedersen) Drabek, died Thursday (May 7, 2009) at his home in Des Moines from Menkes disease.

Funeral services will be held 6 P.M., Monday at the Lutheran Church of Hope, 925 Jordan Creek Pkwy., West Des Moines. Private burial will be held Tuesday at Highland Memory Gardens in Des Moines.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 P.M., Sunday at the Cataldo Funeral Chapel, 160 E. 4th St., in Garner and will continue from 4 P.M. until service time at the church on Monday.

Memorials may be directed to the Khalon Drabek Memorial Fund in care of Rick and Sheree Drabek 5100 Walnut Ridge Dr., Des Moines, IA 50317.

He is survived by his parents, Rick and Sheree Drabek of Des Moines; sister, Kiana; brothers, Tanner and Declan; maternal grandparents, Gerald and Karen Pedersen of Garner; paternal grandmother, Sandy Drabek of Windsor Heights; aunts and uncles, Bree (Kasey) Harken of Ankeny, Kirk (Liz) Pedersen of West Des Moines, Ken (Rachelle) Drabek of Altoona and Pam Last of Altoona; and many other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Kenneth Drabek; and an uncle.
