"Scott and I did not know each other very well. This, however, did not seem to matter too much to him back in 1988 at the Jefferson Speedway. My dad and I were racing there with Scott and it was our first time at that track. We were struggling to find the right tire sizes to be competitive. Scott approached us and gave my dad and I a tire to use. He did not want any money, was not too concerned about getting it back; all he was concerned about was helping us out. It has been 23 years since that day and I still remember what he did. I will never forget that act of kindness and generosity from what was a complete stranger to us. Scott, I will miss seeing you around and 'saying hi' to each other; and I will never forget that day you reached out. This memory will be with me forever. "

My husband told me he was scared out of his mind because Scott was whizzing past all the all cars on the snow and ice covered roads, but Scott was cool as a cucumber and knew just how to handle the car like a true pro in such adverse conditions. Sadly I had not seen Scott in awhile but I remember the last time I did he was proudly driving this big, awesome, shiny red car ? a Dodge perhaps? You were a great guy and the essence of cool Scott! "Scotty O. I first met Scott as a Sun Prairie athlete, then as a race driver and a friend. My fondest memory is the following. The first year Scott drove a race car he was leading the Hobby Stock point standings at Columbus 151 Speedway. He asked me to drive his car and tell him how I thought the handling could be improved. After ten laos I got out and he said," Well how is it?" I said" If it was a horse I would shoot it!? His response was, "what should I do?" Nothing, I said, "if you can drive this you will be a champion." He went on to win that year and more after. Scott was a champion and most of all a friend. "I first met Scott when he and Tami started dating while in high school. Tami was our first babysitter and often Scott came over and played with our three boys. The boys loved it! No matter what was going on in Scott's life, he always made time to help those he cared for. Scott always treated my family wonderfully and also continued to help the rest of the Anderson family. When you walked away the first words I said to my coworker was "boy is he a nice guy". From then on, I looked forward to when you came to the bank. You would come in and I would yell across the lobby "Scotty boy". You always had patience for my weird sense of humor and Big mouth. You would always laugh at my outspoken ways, when other people would not. You just accepted me for me and I won't forget that.
