Oscar Louis Sperloen
August 27, 1918 - December 1, 2012

Stoughton- Oscar Louis "Buddy" Sperloen, age 94, passed away on Saturday, December 1, 2012 in Stoughton. He was born on August 27, 1918, the eighth of nine children to Erick and Sena (Peterson) Sperloen. Oscar served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII and was stationed in France, Germany and Czechoslovakia. He worked at the Stoughton Foundry before moving into a life of dairy and tobacco farming in the Dane County area. On August 9, 1958, he married Lucille Kroetz Jerdee. Oscar was an avid bowler for 33 years and enjoyed playing baseball and cards. He loved to follow San Francisco Giants and Brewers baseball and Packers football. Oscar is survived by his wife of 54 years, Lucille; six children, Jon Gander, Gary (Betty) Gander, Rick Gander, Dana (Wendy) Sperloen, Larry Jerdee and Mary Jo (Tom) Bambrough; grandchildren; great grandchildren; and many relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, December 5, 2012 at Covenant Lutheran Church. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens. Friends and relatives are invited to a luncheon at church, following the burial. Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Tuesday, December 4, 2012 at Cress Funeral Home in Stoughton and from 10:00 AM until the time of services at church on Wednesday. "I was Oscar's personal care worker, We had many laughs in the short time I knew him. I just loved the way each day I came to care for hom that he would play a game with me and always say who is it, and giggle at me. I will miss our moments together. To say nothing of that little giggle you gave me each day. "
