In loving memory of

Louis R. "Lou" Pellitteri
August 12, 1960 - December 5, 2012

Fort Lauderdale, Florida / Madison, Wis. - Louis "Lou" R. Pellitteri, age 52, passed away surrounded by his family on December 5, 2012 in Miami FL following a tragic motorcycle accident while on route to the Cops Ride for Kids on December 1, 2012. Lou loved to ride his Harley Davidson Street Glide and participated in many charity rides in Florida and California. Lou enjoyed these rides with his friends of the Vice City Riders and Bikers of Broward, Florida, and the Desert Riders Association of California. He planned to ride in one of his favorite events, the annual Christmas Toys In The Sun Run, on Sunday December 9th. His brother Steve enjoyed motorcycle adventures with him in California.

Lou also enjoyed boating, jeeping, fun in the sun, playing his drums and many guitars. He was extremely close to his mom. In recent years, he encouraged her to embrace technology so they could share life's fond moments through email. She especially loved the pictures he would send of himself and each of his new "toys". Whenever any of us came to visit, Lou was always a gracious tour guide, sharing the color and culture of the beautiful places where he lived. Lou had a special bond with his niece Jenni. They loved doing many things together, especially skiing ever since he taught her how to tackle the slopes when she was very young. Lou was really looking forward to spending Christmas with his family in Wisconsin this year.

Lou was born August 12, 1960 in Madison WI and graduated from James Madison Memorial High School. He was currently the Director of Engineering at the W Hotel in Fort Lauderdale. He was very proud to be a part of such a fabulous hotel and enjoyed working with wonderful friends. Previously he was with the Hilton in Miami, and the Marriott at many locations around the country where he made a number of life-long friends.

Lou was preceded in death by his father, Louis J. Pellitteri, in 2004. He will be terribly missed by his mother, Hazel Pellitteri, of Madison; brother, Paul, of Madison; sister, Lorraine "Lori", of Madison; brother, Steve, and sister-in-law, Lori, of Oakland, CA; niece and Godchild, Jennifer "Jenni", of Fort Collins, CO; niece, Cindi (Jason) Stampfli, of Verona; niece, Melanie, of Oregon; and great-nephews, Blake and Jackson, of Verona. Lou is also survived by one uncle, several aunts and many cousins. He also leaves behind his large extended family of friends and coworkers in Florida and around the country.

While we were in Florida this past week, we were very fortunate to experience the incredible love and respect his friends as well as past and present coworkers had for him. We would like to thank all of them for their support through this extremely difficult time. We also appreciate the efforts by the first responders and the staff at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, FL. A very special thank you to his amazing nurse, Martha, who helped us all through Lou's final ride.

Funeral services will be held Monday, December 10, 2012 at 11 a.m. at CRESS FUNERAL HOME, 3610 Speedway Road, Madison, WI 53705. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of service. Following the service, Lou will take his "Last Ride" to Resurrection Cemetery in a Victorian "Harley" Funeral Coach.

Memorials may be made to Toys For Tots or a charity of your choice. We will miss you Lou!!

"Lou, it has taken some time for me to write this, mostly because it has been hard to grasp you are no longer with us. The W Fort Lauderdale team truly misses you and laughter. Never took life too serious. You started at the property during one of the craziest times (Brand Summit) and was not scared away but rather embraced the opportunity. Always one to show support and lend an ear when needed. We know you are in a better place now...most likely talking shop with Harley's founding Fathers! "

"My heartfelt condolences go out to the family of "Sweet" Lou. He was a devoted member and officer of our charity motorcycle club in the Coachella Valley (Palm Springs, CA). I was just looking at old photo's of us guarding flags during Veteran's Week at 2:00 AM. So many great times and great rides. I never doubted that you would come walking through the door on the second Saturday saying "what's up everyone, where are we riding"? You are loved my brother and missed already. May you rest in eternal peace and we will ride together again some day."
