Jean Evelyn Bleich
With heavy hearts and great sadness we announce Jean of San Diego, California, formerly of Lancaster Wisconsin and Dubuque, Iowa passed peacefully to her heavenly home on Friday, January 27, 2017. Jean was born on September 3, 1931, in Dubuque Iowa to Gerald and Harriet Swan (Rowe). She graduated from Dubuque Senior High School in 1949 and on April 21, 1951, married Tom Bleich from Columbus, Wisconsin and preceded her in death 1984.
Jean worked for several different telephone companies over the years. She had a passion for children and followed her heart and volunteered for Project Concern and Foster Grandparent Program in Dubuque for over nine years.

Jean is survived by daughter Cathy (Steve) Martin of Crescent City, California, sons Tim (Betty) of Lancaster, Wisconsin and Lee (Netty) of San Diego, California. Grandchildren (7) Jesse, Christopher, Steve Jr., Kelli, John & Tyler. In addition brother George (Judy) of Dubuque, Iowa, five great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Ruby Linden, Betha Albang and Jeannette Williams, twin grandsons Jared and Nickolas, brother-in-law John Linden and nephew Chris Linden.
She will be laid to rest at Mount Calvary Cemetery in Dubuque on April 29, 2017.
