Barbara Crespin, 81, of Johnstown, died Wednesday, August 9, 2017 at TRU Hospice of Northern Colorado in Greeley. She was born on June 18, 1936 in Costilla, New Mexico to Ramon Martinez and Nicomedes Barela. Barbara came to the Johnstown area as a child. She attended schools in Johnstown. After her education, she met Joseph "Don" Crespin and they were married on April 24, 1955 at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church in Greeley. ucation, she met Joseph "Don" Crespin and they were married on April 24, 1955 at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church in Greeley.

After their marriage, they lived in Johnstown, where they raised their family. They were members of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, where Barbara was very active in Legion of Mary. She also sang in the choir. Barbara worked at Milliken Middle School as a Teacher's Aide and at Best Western Motel near Johnson's Corner. She also worked at Kmart, Kodak, Sherwood Enterprise and Miniscribe Inc.

Barbara enjoyed shopping with her family, taking trips to Black Hawk, doing crafts and attending Sister Day in which she spent time with her sisters. She loved time with her family and enjoyed family get-togethers.

Barbara is survived by her husband, Joseph "Don" Crespin of Johnstown; daughters, Teresa (Dave) Hernandez of Johnstown and Donna Crespin of Thornton; sons, Kenneth Crespin of Johnstown and David (Danette) Crespin of Milliken; sister, Maria (Phillip) Zamarripa of Johnstown; brothers, Roger Martinez of Sterling, Jay Martinez of Greeley, Raymond Martinez of Johnstown and Amado (Andrea) Martinez of Gilbert, Arizona; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Pauline Diaz and two brothers, Norman and Gilbert Martinez.

Visitation was from 5:30-6:30 p.m. Monday, August 14, 2017 followed by Recitation of the Rosary at 6:30 p.m. both at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Johnstown. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 15, 2017 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Interment Johnstown Cemetery.
