Alan B. Tillquist

Madison, WI / Boulder, CO - Alan B. Tillquist, age 59, died on Sunday, July 17, 2011 at the UW Hospital in Madison. He was born on December 13, 1951 to Leonard and Gladys Tillquist in Denver, Colorado. Alan was a proud Wheat Ridge Farmer, and a graduate of the University of Colorado - Boulder. Go Buffs! The only thing Alan treasured more than a round of golf, a pint of Guinness, and the mountains of home, was his role as a father. Alan is survived by his three children, Stacy, Jackson and Matthew; his two grandchildren, Avery and Mason; his mother, Gladys of Colorado Springs, CO; his siblings, Richard (Carolyn) and Ann (Charles); and was loved by 17 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father. A memorial service will be held at 12 Noon on Friday, July 22, 2011 at ST. MARIA GORETTI CATHOLIC CHURCH, 5313 Flad Avenue, Madison. Throughout Alan's long battle with leukemia, he received countless units of blood and platelets, and a successful bone marrow transplant thanks to an "anonymous friend from abroad".
