James M. WeinbergJuly 17, 1925 Â- July 19, 2011He is survived by wife, Judy Federick, and children, Jon Weinberg, Karen Doherty and Laura Weinberg, and grandchildren, Natasha, Anya, Cian and Alexandra Doherty and Adrian and Carolina Weinberg, to whom he was a doting father and grandfather. Jim attended Stanford University and Harvard Law School in the 1940Â's. He practiced law for the movie studios for many years, pioneered class-action lawsuits, specifically against banks and savings and loans, and continued to work well into his retirement. He was born in Los Angeles and lived and worked in L.A. all his life. He was on the first train out of Union Station in 1939, attended DisneylandÂ's Opening Day on his 30th birthday in 1955 and was on the inaugural polar route flight from London to California in 1957. He had a lifelong passion for politics, was very active in the Democratic Party and fought for votersÂ' rights.
