Anna Marie Marburger, age 98, passed away February 14, 2012 at the Shenandoah Medical Center. Anna was born on December 8, 1913, in Humboldt, Nebraska to Henry and Adelia (Gunzenhauser) Stalder.
Anna was raised in Humboldt, Nebraska and graduated from Humboldt High School. After graduation, she went to Peru State Normal and taught country school for two years.
On June 30, 1932, Anna married Harold H. Marburger in Humboldt, Nebraska. Harold worked for a light company and was transferred many times throughout Nebraska and Missouri before settling in Shenandoah, Iowa in the early 50's.
Anna was a lifelong and active member of the Presbyterian Church. She also was a member of Rebekah Lodge and Eastern Star P.E.O. Anna enjoyed playing bridge, flower gardens, sewing and reading.
Preceding Anna in death were her husband, Harold, in 1979; her parents; granddaughter, Jodi Hockenberry; and brothers-in-law, Charles, Willard, and Lee Marburger.
Anna is survived by her daughter, Janet Lee Hockenberry and husband Duane of Spicer, Minnesota; and sister-in-law Virginia Marburger of Humboldt, Nebraska.
