Mary L. Kennedy, 89, of Keokuk, died at 1:20 PM Friday, February 17, 2012, at Keokuk Area Hospital.
Mary was born November 4, 1922 in Memphis, Missouri, the daughter of Marvin and Opal Rose Stice. She lived in the Keokuk area most of her life. She owned and operated a ceramics shop from her home and enjoyed plaster crafts and sewing.
She is survived by two daughters, Carol Melvin and Mary M. Kennedy, both of Keokuk; one granddaughter, Julie Melvin of Newport, Virginia; four great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents and stepfather, Roy Dowda.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, February 22, 2012, at Sunset Memorial Park.
Family and friends will meet at DeJong-Greaves Celebration of Life Center at 917 Blondeau Street at 1:30 PM Wednesday day to travel in procession to Sunset Memorial Park. The family requests that no flowers be sent because of a family member's health issues.
