Rose Malliette

Rose Malliette, of Antigo, died Monday, February 20, 2012 at Langlade Hospital. She was 87 years old. She was born on March 16, 1924 in Deerbrook, a daughter of the late Frank and Victoria (Franc) Simek. She married Arthur Malliette on October 6, 1945 in Milwaukee. He preceded her in death on April 9, 1974. Mrs. Malliette along with her husband owned Malliette Bus Company in Antigo until their retirement in 1971. After retirement they enjoyed tending to their Christmas tree farm which Mrs. Malliette operated until 1994. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Antigo and the ZCBJ Lodge 244. She enjoyed spending time with the second love of her life, Wayne Brittenham, until his death in the late 1980's. She also enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening, camping and snowmobiling. tion to her husband she was precede in death by a sister, Ann Pechman; three brothers, Edward, Frank and Ladislar Simek; a nephew, Larry Simek; and a niece, Christine Simek. A funeral service will be held on Thursday at 10 a.m. at the Bradley Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Newberry officiating. Burial will take place in Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5 - 7 p.m. and Thursday from 9 - 10 a.m. at the funeral home.
